Your location is determined by the GPS module inside your smartphone. You can improve the accuracy by using specialized hardware or moving to an open area where the phone can easily find a lot of satellites and/or Wi-Fi points.

The typical accuracy of modern GPS receivers is approximately 6-8 meters when the satellite signal is easy to get, and the right algorithms are used. In the United States, Canada, Japan, China, the European Union, and India, there are WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, and other stations that transmit corrections for the differential mode, which reduces the error to 1-2 meters in these countries.
