Explore OneSoil with a demo field, add your own fields, and start checking crop conditions. Use the web app for comparing maps and charts, and the mobile app for observations in the field.
1. Explore your demo field
Every new user receives a ready-made demo field with example data. Open it to see variable-rate application maps, yield maps, and field trials, and get familiar with what a field with data already added looks like.
This example field is separate from the three activations available for trying VRA on your own fields.
2. Add your own fields
Sign in to OneSoil on the web or open the OneSoil mobile app. Add your fields and enter the crop and planting date for the current season.
3. Check vegetation with NDVI
On the web: open Fields, select a field, and go to Status. Expand the field image and choose NDVI or Contrasted NDVI. Use the available image dates to see changes over time. The split-view tool lets you compare different dates or data layers.
On mobile: open Map or Fields, select your field, and use the layer selector to view NDVI. Check the image date before interpreting what you see.
Look for areas that differ from the rest of the field. Contrasted NDVI makes these differences easier to see. An unusual area is a place to inspect, rather than a diagnosis of the cause.
4. Review charts and weather
In the web app, select a field and open Status. Choose the period you want to review:
NDVI chart: follow the field’s vegetation trend during the season.
Accumulated precipitation: review rainfall over the selected period.
Growing degree-days: use accumulated heat as context for crop development.
The Status tab also shows the weather forecast. In the mobile app, open Weather and add a virtual weather station, or select a field and scroll down to its forecast.
For mobile monitoring, the latest cloud-free field image is available without a subscription; full-season image history requires a monitoring subscription. Check what is included in mobile monitoring →
5. Check the field and save a note
Use the maps to decide where to look first. In the mobile app, open a field, expand its card, and tap Add a note. Mark the location, add your observations and a photo, then save. Your note will be available in your account across devices.
Ready to try VRA on your own fields?
In addition to the ready-made demo field, new users can activate three of their own fields to test variable-rate application (VRA). Open the web app, add the fields you want to test, and check your available trial activations in the field list.
Follow the OneSoil Pro: Quick Start Guide for the activation and field-analysis steps, then continue to the VRA map instructions. The Pro guide remains the detailed onboarding route for these tools.
If you cannot find your demo field or trial activations, contact us through the in-app support chat.
